Questions
How soon does a new paperback appear on Amazon?
KDP’s own timeline says up to 72 hours for the book’s page on Amazon.com and up to 5 days on other Amazon sites, and up to 6 days for an account’s first book. The Look Inside preview takes 9 to 10 business days. Ordering a printed proof first adds its own shipping time, so a book for the holidays is best uploaded well before December.
Can I make a book on one theme only?
Yes. Tick one theme, such as A Christmas Carol or the Twelve Days, and a word search book uses it on every page, each page a new grid. With 21 to 25 words a theme, those pages share most of their words, so a few themes make a livelier book.
Will KDP accept the files?
Each book passes our check against KDP’s published paperback specs before you can download it: page size, page count, embedded fonts, margins and gutter for the page count, cover size and spine. If KDP still rejects the files within 30 days, the book’s 500 credits go back to your key.
What goes in the listing?
listing.txt in the ZIP has a title, subtitle, description, seven keyword ideas and the print options to pick on KDP. The preview folder has six images of real pages for your listing.
